I love this kit!

There’s a ton to work with and though here you see mostly blue, there’s a lot of girlie pink, too. I love that it’s so versatile.

So anyway, just thought I’d make a little post here. My blog has been quite neglected lately but I promise, updates coming soon. :) In the meantime, though, I hope y’all like my layout. I haven’t had a chance to do much scrapbooking lately so it was nice to sit down and do something even if I didn’t really get to work on it until after everyone else was asleep. It really is kind of relaxing and therapeutic. I guess that’s why, in part, I like it.

The left photo, though, was shot in black and white film and the second, of course, in color film. I wonder if I should have turned the other photo black and white to match but I like the color version. Both of those photos are some of my favorites from that year. And I just realized I dated the page wrong so I guess I’m off to fix that before bed! It was 2003, not 2004. Duh, Val!! That’s what happens, though when your photos get somehow organized in the wrong folder and though you move them to the proper folder, you have it in your head the wrong date. :)

I really like all the colors of the kit, it has some great elements, too. Less than two weeks left to get it, so if you like it, get on it. ;-)
The kit also comes with a set of templates for a luggage album. I’ve never done one of those before, but I’m looking forward to trying it out. Maybe for a gift for a certain great-grandma when we visit her this fall…

Also, I think I’m ready (or getting ready) for a site layout change (ha) so I’m gonna start looking for a new kit where the designer will let me use it for some free advertising. Hint, hint. :)

No surprise, it’s a great kit! I’ve already put it to use in some of my “free” time yesterday.

However, it all goes to charity, right? So, I’d have bought the kit anyway. But since I got mine free, I want to share. When the deadline rolls around, three judges will each be choosing their favorite layout as a winner. Judges to be announced. :)

The entry deadline is June 25th, 2008, that’s 3 weeks from today so even if you’ve never done this before, you have plenty of time to get started!

I will then be posting the winners and sending out the gift certificates on Friday the 27th, so you’ll still have at least 3 days to get June’s kit if you so desire.

Both are using templates that I absolutely love. The first is a template by Digitreats and the second by Scrapmatters. Normally I try not to use a template but the first did exactly what I wanted and the second is actually for a challenge.

Both layouts are also using stuff from the same kit: Take Flight, the May 2008 kit from Songbird Avenue. I adore this kit! I’d wanted to purchase from Songbird Avenue before but this was the first time I actually did it (not sure why not before). The kits are these collaborative (using the talents of several designers) and the coolest thing is that every penny (besides PayPal fees) goes to charity. This month it’s the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. But if you like the kit you only have until the end of May to get it!

So, yup, there ya go. Two layouts and I haven’t even gotten to use all the elements or my favorite paper yet. :)

In other news, some of my frustration from yesterday has melted away. I am still not happy with my web host right now, though, but I guess we’ll see how things go from here on out. Now, there are other things to attend to…
