It’s been like dueling viruses around here lately. First, the I-am-sick type, with me, E, and K with this thing that started with cold symptoms but brought the joy of diarrhea with it. Kayleigh had it the worst and ended up having diarrhea allllllll over the floor in one of the waiting rooms at the hospital when we were there for her kidney ultrasound. That was horrible, absolutely horrible, it was just all over the floor and she was screaming, etc. Thankfully it wasn’t on carpet and we were the only ones in that little room.

But what was really stupid was that I was already on antibiotics for my sinuses. I was having some horrible headaches that I am now sure were sinus troubles and the doc gave me antibiotics to get them to drain. They are still draining, it’s been weeks now, but I haven’t had that strange headache in almost a week now. So I think that’s a fair trade. Those headaches suck. Really bad. Whenever I’d lay down I thought my head was going to explode.

Then a week and a day after that, it was a computer virus. My fault, really. I wasn’t paying attention and I said “allow” instead of “delete, delete, delete omg delete!” And within a few minutes it had completely wiped out my hard drive. Good thing I’m pretty good at backing up and I only lost 2 weeks of email and some pictures I’d taken of a house that I can (and still need to) retake. But still, a big pain in the butt and once you reformat a computer for the first time, it’s never quite the same. Got some weird things happening when I reboot that I can’t figure out. For the most part, just a big inconvenience that makes me feel really stupid.

Had to get the computer back in shape as quickly as possible, too, ’cause tomorrow I get to digiscrap with the wonderful Kate! Yay!!

Or trying to. We are feeling much better today. It’s hard not to just jump in and eat whatever we want though. Elijah is literally bouncing off the walls. K is the same as she was yesterday though she is still having the bad diapers. I am just left with a massive headache which I am not sure if it’s related to being sick or from lack of caffeine the last two days. Sucks, too, because I really need to obtain a box to mail a camera backpack I sold. Everything I have is either way too small or way too big. Bleh. I was thinking maybe a nap first but if I do that I’m sure I won’t get anywhere in time before they close. Maybe just a few minutes…

So I guess I’ve got what Kayleigh had. Might be what Kayleigh has, because even though she’s not throwing up, she’s still having some nasty diapers and doesn’t seem to have her full appetite back yet.

This.

Sucks.

Bad.

Thank God for Stacey who’s come to take care of us today. Elijah is also complaining from time to time that he feels sick. I’m only up right now because Stacey ran to the store and K wanted to get out of her pack and play and run around on the floor. Thankfully she is being good (as long as Elijah stays out of her way) so right now all I have to do is sit here on the love seat and feel nauseous.

However, Elijah is watching Max & Ruby and I have a few complaints.

1.. Max is a little brat who can’t do what he’s told.

2. Ruby is a dirty hypocrite.

3. In what universe does a new pair of kid’s overalls cost only $5?

and most importantly: 4. WHERE ARE THEIR PARENTS!?

I hate this show.

And I’m grumpy today.

Well, Kayleigh’s puking episode turned into what became her first real sickness. Thankfully, it seems to have been a 24 hour bug. She threw up several times more to the point where she wasn’t keeping anything down, not even 2 ounces of Pedialite. So we talked to the doctor on call for her office and he said give her the heavy syrup from canned peaches, like half a teaspoon every 5 minutes. It was an exhausting evening though we started increasing doses after she held that down well. Today she was half herself again, but no more throwing up. She managed to eat some saltine crackers before her nap and she drank a lot of Pedialite. The bottle is almost empty now. After her nap, she managed a few Cheerios and some baby food and a few other random little snacks. She’s sleeping for the night now, hopefully her normal appetite will have returned tomorrow.

I spent the day cleaning and then working on a wedding book. Got the book finished, but I feel like I didn’t get very far with the cleaning… boo.

Yes, I did have a different theme here today and last night but I decided I hated it. I feel dumb about it too because it’s one I admired for a while and when I had a 20% off coupon, I took it. I’m actually very unhappy with it as a whole because it’s not styled enough, they didn’t style the comments at all, for example. I emailed but I doubt I’ll get my money back. Maybe all their WordPress themes are that way, I don’t know, I’ve only ever bought Flash ones before…

The three of us (Steve was working) got ready and left for church this morning. Elijah and I got some quick breakfast at McDonald’s. Kayleigh had had her customary bottle of milk with her medicine and vitamins, then she was munching on some crackers, but she didn’t eat too many. When we got to my in-laws’ to pick up Sarah, I was moving the diaper bag from the front seat to the back floorboards when I noticed Kayleigh was… covered in puke.

She didn’t cry or anything, didn’t make any noises so I have no idea when she puked. Got her inside and had to fight her to get her clothes off, she kept trying to run away! She was acting totally fine. But there was a ton of puke, thankfully though, all contained in the car set. Managed to get that out and we washed the cover and I had to hose the rest of it off.

Now we’re back home and Kayleigh’s down for a nap and her nasty clothes are in the wash. (Why we didn’t wash them at my in-laws’ with the car seat cover I will never know.) I am exhausted lol and it’s barely past noon. It’s just so weird. I hope she isn’t sick, but she’s really not acting like she is. I need to go to the store but I was so tired and afraid she might throw up again that I just came home.

I guess we got spoiled after she had her surgery before coming home from the NICU. For the longest time she didn’t even burp, nothing ever came up that way, so she really hasn’t puked in over a year and a half. Of course, she also hasn’t even really been very sick at all yet, either. Knock on wood…

So now I’m trying to stay awake while I watch Best Player with Elijah…

…and again with the puking. Sigh…

So my new schedule… isn’t… lately. Last Monday I was feeling extra tired so I only managed 10 minute of aerobics before I collapsed back to sleep. E came down with a fever that evening and Tuesday morning was in my bed after a long night, so I didn’t work out then, either. Took him to the doctor and he had ear infections in both ears so he’s been on antibiotics and some ear drops. I started poopy soon thereafter. I thought we were fine Friday so we went out with my sister-in-law for lunch and stuff. Saturday, another friend came down. Sunday morning was ok, but in the evening I started to feel really bad. Chest pain, bad cough. I ended up in the doctor’s on Monday, afraid I was getting bronchitis or something. He said my lungs were fine but duhn duhn duhn, I have ear infections, too. I’m on antibiotics and some cough pill. My chest doesn’t hurt nearly as bad now but this cough is still somewhat painful and very annoying. Kayleigh, however, is just fine. Must be her regular daily antibiotic keeping things at bay. I came home from the doctor, put K down for a nap and collapsed myself on the couch and was out for like 4 hours until K woke me up. Then, of course, I couldn’t sleep at night!

So, bleh. After a month of working out almost 5 days a week, I feel off the wagon. It’s this cough now that’s keeping me away because I know that the second I get into it, it’s just going to start and I won’t be able to stop. If I have to raise my voice a little bit or breathe something too cold, it just starts a fit. I’ve not been weighing in or doing body tests either. I just kinda feel like why bother to get everything out and set up just for that when I can go back to bed instead? :P

Steve’s also not got anything wrong with him. He’s only been sick to where he had to stay home from work twice since I’ve known him. February 2002 and December 2008! I wish I had that immune system. The doctor thought I was hilarious when I said I catch anything that walks by, but it’s true. I take more vitamins, for example, than Steve does, and he spends more time outside in the cold than I do, yet he rarely ever catches anything.

Oh well, you win some, you lose some. There’s just never a good time to be sick. I am so busy right now… I also didn’t intend to just come here and whine about being sick but now that I’ve started, I can’t remember what else I had to say… :)
