So yesterday I did a stupid thing. I know, I know, what else is new?

I had some potatoes in the microwave, baking in a plastic bag. The bag sealed itself shut so I stopped the microwave and waited for it to deflate, then I opened it. Big mistake. There was still plenty of pressure and the steam burst out and I guess I have a 2nd degree burn on my left thumb now. It blistered up immediately.

I immediately put it under running cold water and ended up doing that several times before getting some ice on it. Any time I’d take the ice off for more than 20 or 30 seconds, it would start burning again.

I had to go to the grocery store bakery (our only one in town!) to order a cake for this weekend so while I was there I got myself some stuff for burns and once it took effect, it really felt a lot better.

Hopefully this blister and stuff will go away soon! Eventually I’m going to need to do some dishes, and type with two hands, lol… Oy, but will there ever be an end to my stupidity??

After watching House all the time, I would have thought that Vicodin might give me a good trip but I am not so lucky. I’m still in pain. Bah. My lower jaw is just killing me. Yup, I got my wisdom teeth out this morning. Finally. Yes, I know. I’ve been putting this off for years. And like I told the doctor when I went in, I don’t know why I was so nervous. I’ve been through childbirth for crying out loud. I knew what was going to happen, I knew I had no reason to worry but I couldn’t help it for some reason.

Well, now it’s over. Except for the healing process, of course. I just hope it’s a speedy process. I have many projects I have to get done, some by this Sunday. I don’t feel like just sleeping, I can’t fall asleep right now, but I don’t feel like doing anything of any value, either. I’m just sitting here playing Packrat and thinking about switching over to The Sims 2.

Elijah had his ENT appointment at the same time I was getting my teeth out. My mother-in-law had to take him, if we didn’t take this appointment, he wouldn’t have gotten in until September 19! His tonsils are still huge but they don’t seem to bother him much. They’re scary looking, though. So the ENT (which is the same one that did his tongue last year) gave him three more medicines and wants to see him in another month. I guess then if they’re not down, they’ll come out.

So that’s where we stand. I can’t stand tasting blood all the time like I am but putting the gauze in really gags me. So blah. I hope it heals soon. They said I wasn’t bleeding a lot, the nurse kept acting like it was good.

But it was so weird. Before today, I’d never been put out for anything before (that I’m aware of). The last thing I remember was looking at the ceiling, feeling some, like, popping in my head (like when you stand up too fast), then I woke up in recovery. I kept trying to lay down and go to sleep and they kept holding me up. I was really dizzy and my face numb. But I think I was pretty coherent. Apparently when the nurse mentioned they’d give me antibiotics, I told her I wanted a Diflucan, too. I don’t remember that, but Steve says I did. I am bewildered though, that I walked to recovery, because I don’t remember that, either!

So, once again, I’m very glad it’s over and I’m praying I recover quickly!!

So you know how Stewie is always trying to kill Lois? Uh… yeah.

Elijah wanted more juice and had brought into the living room one of those little bottles from the cooler I had out at the fair today. But he’d already had enough so I was taking it back to the cooler to save for tomorrow. I walked into the dark center/dining room only to find out there was ice cold water all over the floor. I slipped before I knew what was happening and landed with my knees and the whole bottom of my left leg on the floor and my elbows on the top of the cooler. Instantly my back was killing me (and still is).

E came running around the corner and said, “Oh no! Are you gonna died?”

I can haz near death experience, yay!

So on the way home he was crying and pulling on his lip but I couldn’t figure out anything. When we got home, I looked at him, he was fine. When I laid him down in bed, this is what I saw.

I can’t figure it out – what happened? He hasn’t hit his face on anything as far as I know… And, furthermore, he keeps biting on the darn thing, I keep telling him not to, but he just keeps doing it… :-\

And come to think of it, he must get that biting-the-lips thing from me because it seems I’m doing it all the time to mine.

What’s your stupidest bad habit you’ve passed on to someone else? Heh.

And what the heck is wrong with my little boy!?!?!

Owwie – Steve went to his softball game tonight and nearly right away pulled his hamstring. He’s up on the couch now with an ice pack watching the Speed channel. I don’t think he oughta go to work tomorrow, but he just keeps saying that he will see how he is in the morning.

As for me, I’ve decided that I am going to change this domain name – and according to my host if I do it the way I am thinking it should be a fairly easy process (ie just changing links not having to reupload, etc.). However, I can’t decide what I want. I need something that is me and that I will not change for a long time. Normally I wouldn’t change this domain so soon, but I just feel like I need to.
So any ideas or keywords, please comment me. :-)

Okay, so I was leaving Elijah’s room about a half an hour ago – he’d been sleeping in there a while and I went to cover him up as it’s gotten cooler (after an 80 degree day!!!). As I was coming out, I somehow banged my head on the door (it was only open enough for me to squeeze through – it makes noise when you open it, so I didn’t want to wake him up). I don’t know how it happened, but it was totally wierd. And for a split second, my vision went funny – I saw things as if you had a camcorder and shaking it back and forth – I guess like a cartoon. It was so wierd. And go figure, I hit my left side of my head while I already have a temple-headache on my right. Grrrr.
I am also kicking myself in the butt today… I went to the bank and asked, “what’s the difference between a money order and a cashier’s check?” She told me, “a money order is $4 and a cashier’s check is $6.” “Okay then, I’ll have the money order, hehe.” It is for the Poseidon expansion pack. So she makes me out a money order for $13.35 – which includes $5.35 shipping (I went ahead and went with priority mail since it was only $2 more expensive than media mail) – and I had to pay the $4 fee. Then I went down to the post office to get some stamps. On my way out, they asked me if they could help me and I said, “oh I was just wondering how much a money order cost here.” Guess how much… 90 cents. Grrrr.
Steve came home from a bad day at work… and he brought with him Charlie’s Angels Full Throttle and The Matrix Reloaded. Neither are really bad I guess, but neither is as good as its original either. Oh well.
I guess I should go do something productive – I mean since I didn’t get anything done today in between getting up late, running errands, making supper, and watching those silly movies…
