Bleh, it’s frustrating and it never fails. Tonight, for example. I warned the E-boy:

“Bedtime in one hour.”

“Bedtime in half an hour.”

“Bedtime in fifteen minutes.”

“Ok, brush your teeth, go to the bathroom, wash your hands, get your jammies on, and go to bed.”

A lot of instructions, I know, but he’s really got that bedtime routine down pat. The problem starts about 15 minutes after he’s been in bed.

“I’m hungry.”

“Hello? Mommy? I’m hungry!!”

“You’ve been sent to bed. Good-night.”

“But I’m hungry! I didn’t have dinner.”

He totally had dinner, whether he wants to admit it or not. Sometimes he gets a snack (contrary to what my size may show you, we don’t usually have dessert here). But he always has plenty of time before bed to tell me he’s hungry. There are times I’ve even asked him if he was hungry, gotten a “no” answer, sent him to bed, then *suddenly* he’s “hungry.” Most of the time I think it’s just a ploy to stay up later but I feel guilty thinking that I don’t want to deny a growing boy some food.

But this behavior has got to stop. Tonight I told him, “ok, you can eat your dinner left-overs but then to bed and this is NOT going to happen anymore. You have plenty of time to decide if you’re hungry or not and you will NOT be getting out of bed like this anymore.” We’ll see how it goes.

The thing that really grinds my gears, though, besides when he’s been offered food just 10 minutes prior, is that he throws an absolute fit about finishing dinner left-overs. I have been in his face about not wasting food but he just doesn’t seem to get it. Of course, I win there, because I say “it’s that or nothing, we’re not wasting it,” but it still frustrates.

This has been a rant, good-night. :)

Went out with a friend for dinner this evening, had a good time. Nice place. Came home to an empty house which was nice, but didn’t last long enough. But that’s where the photo comes from, the restaurant’s bathroom. Silver and red. Actually pretty cool.

Spent the earlier day trying to catch up on some things and getting a little done here and a little done there. How very typical. Now I am up late, watching Duplex. Steve bailed when he saw what movie it was but I LOVE this movie. So I’m stickin’ it out!

Rented Love in a Time of Cholera yesterday. It kinda sucked. Also rented Beyond the Gates which I thought was something else by the same name but it turned out, of course, it’s not about Ecuador but about Rwanda. Stuck it out with my father-in-law until I had to leave for a meeting but returned it without seeing the end or asking anyone what happened. Guess I’m just not in to that right now.

Elijah’s going nuts waiting for Kung Fu Panda to come out. He picked up the Xbox game at the movie store and was all, “MOMMY LYKE OMG MOMMY PAY ATTENTION IT’S KUNGGGGFU PANDA!!!11!!!!!1″ Too bad for him we don’t have an Xbox…

In other news… remember my swim suit? Steve threw mine in the dryer back in June or July so I had to get a new one. It took me forever but I finally found the one I wanted online. Had to order it online, too, because my closest Lane Bryant doesn’t carry swimsuits. The thing was $90 but on sale for, I think $60. It turned out to be two piece which I didn’t expect but it worked out ok. What I really liked was that the top was a square neckline, not plunging which is so not me. But they assume that because you’re bigger you must have big boobs (I no, ryte?) so our family friend was altering the thing for me. She took it and did a temporary fix and I found it was ok but it took me a long time to get with her to give it back for final altering. So when I was over there Thursday of last week, I left it with her.

Well, apparently, it sat there by her machine for nearly a week and her FOUR dobermans left it alone until Wednesday night. When she got home that evening, they’d apparently eaten it. So she says, of course, she’ll buy me a new top. The bottoms (skirtini) are ok, they were here with me. But I go to look at the website and guess what, I find the product by the old URL (thank you Firefox 3 for guessing where I’m going) but apparently it’s no longer available. So now I’m upset. Sigh. I don’t like anything else they have except for one that might be ok. On an off-chance, I emailed LB and they suggested I call or visit a local store and have them check inventory that they might have. I can guess that’s going to go nowhere. So, sigh. That was like the first one I ever really liked, in all my life. Most expensive suit I’ve probably ever had, too. I was ok when I figured I could order it again but it being unattainable just kinda depresses me.

I know, I know, how stupid to be depressed over a swim suit. I guess it’s just frustrating when you have something you really like and you can no longer have/use it because something out of your control took it away. Oh well, I’ll find a replacement and hopefully soon forget all about this one. Also, I’m not mad at our friend at all but I just wish the stupid dogs hadn’t have eaten it. They act weird when there’s something around the house that smells like someone else and apparently eat those things all the time despite their obedience training. Our friend thinks the four of them had a party with my suit. Blah. (By the way, it’s not strange for me to need a suit this time of year, some of you might remember I am trying to swim at the community center’s indoor pool with E twice a week. We haven’t been keeping up with it lately with things being so crazy but I was going to start next week again after, of course, getting my suit back.)

ARGGGGG!!!

Let’s just say that certain people who I have paid to so something that I was told would be done within 24 hours of payment still haven’t done it after a week. A. WEEK. !!! And let’s just say that because of this, a certain website of mine is really wonky and now it’s refusing to work right and it’s costing me money in areas I can’t afford. So, yay, I get to ship out an order that the cart didn’t charge for shipping, so I make pretty much no money on this one. It’s my site’s fault, so I’m not going to make the customer make up the difference. But if this continues, I’m gonna get screwed big time…

AAAAAUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH.

I’m going to spontaneously combust. Seriously.

Good-bye, cruel world.

Whenever I am on the internet, once in a day, I’ll stop by my own blog here, and see if there are any entries in the sidebar that are being listed as posted a year or two ago. I always read these entries.

Look at one year ago today, will ya? Look down at the 8th paragraph, it’s just a one liner.

My dryer still hasn’t been fixed after months. What does this say?

So it has been over a year that my dryer’s been on the fritz. It works all fine and dandy, but the timer’s busted so it will run and run and the dial never moves and the thing never shuts itself off. I have a tendency to forget about it and realize that it’s been running for four or five hours or more. Amazingly enough, none of the clothing inside has ever spontaneously combusted… yet.

So I was right, it’s been over a year that the thing has been busted and over a year that we’ve had the part to fix it but it hasn’t been done.

Almost makes me want to move into an apartment or rental house somewhere so I can yell at some landlord to fix stuff instead of Steve, the husband who has absolutely no time for anything at all.
