I distinctly remember attaching the UPC to the print-out like they instructed.

I distinctly remember putting the stamp on the envelope.

I distinctly remember dropping it in a mailbox at my mom’s post office, along with a get-well card for a family friend who just had a biopsy on two golfball sized masses in his brain…

When I got home this evening, I happened to look on my scanner and see the copy of the original packing slip that I was supposed to include with the rebate form.

“Dang it!” I thought, “there goes my ten bucks.”

But then I thought, oh well, it was just $10 back via PayPal in 6 to 8 weeks (sheesh), even without it, it’s still a good price for the 2 Gigs.

But then I looked down… What did I see?

The actual rebate form with the attached UPC.

So what did I send in the envelope?

Apparently nothing!!!!!

Doh!

For what it’s worth, I blame this on the rebate company, them making me fill out their long survey and my information online then throwing it at me that I still have to mail something in. :P

Yesterday, I left my coat in the tv room when I left.

I remembered it when we were almost to my mom’s. I later told her about it and she said, “well just go back and get it.”

I had to say, “No, Mom, you aren’t listening to me. My coat is locked in the tv room, locked in the building. No one is there. My keys are in my coat pocket.”

Doh!

I don’t think anyone will mess with it, so I just borrow Steve’s keys until Wednesday when I can go get it.

However, I got to thinking about it and I could swear that I remembered carrying my coat out to the car. Steve said, “you didn’t leave it on top the car, did you?” That would put it outside the “back” doors if I did. But I don’t even see a reason I would have put my coat on top of the dirty car in the first place.

So I’m really hoping that all is where I left it.

I did email P last night, so if she checked her email, she probably has it locked in her office by now…

It’s just beyond me how I did this.

Okay, so it’s not completely beyond me. I can really see me leaving my coat because I’ve almost left it several times before this. But my keys? I am so nutty about my keys that you’d think I’d remember those!

One time, I was about 17, I guess, I was driving home late from work and was mentally going over everything, making sure I had everything I needed with me. Suddenly my heart stopped and I said aloud, “where are my keys!!??!!??”

Duh, idiot, you’re driving. Where do you think they are?
