Just… whoa. LOL! Really, to talk about this at any length would be to give it all away and I don’t wanna do that. You can email me and discuss it though if you want! It was a good read and yeah, there are parts that are really… off-putting… but that makes the story, and it’s not really unbelievable, so, yeah. The one thing that kept coming back to me is how some of the characters, as we often do in real life, would rather have an easy lie than a hard truth.
The only thing that got to me, and this is nothing against the author or the book at all but the publishing of the copy I had, about 3/4 of the way through the book, I started seeing not just a few but A LOT of spots where they were missing quotation marks. Some of it was rather confusing because of this. It would say something like: “…the carriage,” I said and then we can go on to the village…” — and I wouldn’t realize that someone was speaking again. But again, that’s just a knock against the publishing because it was actually very ridiculous. I wish I’d have counted the times, it seriously had to be at least 20 mistakes like this.
Anyway, I’ve started the next book and we’ll see if it can rival the first :)
