As usual, I enjoyed this John Grisham book. He has a wonderful style of writing and this one kept me interested until the end. While I usually have a problem with the endings to Grisham books, this one was just fine, worked out mostly the way I expected.
The Broker is about Joel Backman, a man in prison, practically solitary confinement, for 20 years. But in a haste movement, he is pardoned under the cover of darkness by a President who’s in the process of leaving office. Suddenly he goes from sickly prison ward to witness protection in a foreign country under a new name. But something’s not right, is it? Can Joel see what is happening before it’s too late?
