This was indeed the most poignant account I have read. I really don’t have words to describe it. I’ve read about some horrible stuff before, but Muller’s experiences really take the cake. All I can do is recommend this book to anyone who is researching the Holocaust, death camps, and especially the Sonderkommando.
There are critics out there who say this account cannot be true because the Nazis routinely killed members of the Sonnderkommando in the death camps to try and hide the details of their horrible crimes. But I understand that miracles happen and I believe Muller survived only by the grace of God to be able and share his story with us and I believe every word.
I just cannot imagine being in his shoes. I really don’t think I would have lasted a day…
