More on this later, but in a nutshell, this is a collection of stories from WWII and the Holocaust. The book concentrates on survival and there are many different categories: survival by being helped, survival because of family/friend ties, etc. After the stories of surviving individuals, Part II talks about survival of people as well as other things such as art, music, etc.

I am glad that I read this book, however I was a bit disappointed at times, I feel that a lot of the stories of survival seem mangled and need more clarification/details. Some of them seemed like they were put together too quickly and just need more refinement.

But one cannot discount the stories of survival and they are all amazing in their own unique way.

I would definitely recommend this book.
