And you&#039;re right Owen - really it was an easy birth, and most likely I could&#039;ve and probably should&#039;ve just refused the epidural altogether and been just fine.  Steve is still not quite entertained by the story, I think he&#039;s actually pretty angry that I was left alone like that even for that very very short amount of time.  But I said that she wasn&#039;t hurt so I can see it as funny.  And as a nurse said to me later, &quot;you have a great story for her when she&#039;s older!&quot;  Not to mention, seeing the end result as somewhat funny is a great stress reliever, as I was seriously stressed out with the whole long epidural process. So I am also thankful that it was all over so quickly.  I did have nurses tell me last week that everything I&#039;d been through lately did mean that I deserved an easy labor and birth!

Claire - thanks for sharing your info and lovely photo!  It&#039;s encouraging to hear of others who were early and their stories have not ended there!
