So, I did it! My first wedding as the sole official photographer and it turned out great! Yeah, not all of my shots are perfect, but out of 490, I did pretty well! At the left is my absolute favorite photo, I just love it. :)

The wedding was outdoors at a winery that’s about 48 miles from me. I was worried about a couple of things, one being the sun and the harsh light it can throw and that turned out to be a valid worry but there really wasn’t anything I could do, and I do think I can clean up some of it. Secondly, I was worried about the heat, and I was also right to worry about that. Thankfully it didn’t get as bad as I imagined it might, though.

It was the shortest ceremony I’ve ever been to, too. Very quick, a short welcome, the vows, the rings, the kiss, done! But it was beautiful. I stood in the back and used my 55-200mm lens. I was wishing I had the 18-200mm lens a bit as I did have to change back and forth a bit before the ceremony, but once it started I stuck with the 55-200 then afterwards back to the 18-55 for portraits and what not. They had a sit-down dinner reception that was also very nice. People these days think that the bigger the wedding, the better it is, but this wedding proved that that is simply not true.

So here are some more of my more favorite shots without processing. Before I send the photos to the bride, I am going to do a bit cleaning up. Some lightening on several, other fixes, some crops, some in black and white, etc. I have a lot to go through in a short amount of time, hopefully I can get this finished Monday.

Yeah, so that was photo overload. I’m telling you though, only the tip of the iceberg…

And if there’s something to be said about wedding photography: move fast, shoot fast. :P
