People can be so nasty, but I’m sure you knew that already. I have been working on the website of a lobbyist to the state for quite some time now. During the elections last year, for obvious reasons, things got very busy. And for the first time in the couple of years we’ve been running the site… the hate mail poured in. Most of it was rather harmless and sometimes humorous, people whining about a word here and there used to describe some bill or group of people, etc. But one guy just went the full mile… and I have been saving this for a rainy day.

Before I get into this, let me just say something. The lobbyists are conservative, that is their point of view. And whether or not it is yours, in America we all have a right to believe what we want. We all have the right to share those views if we so desire. And we all have a right to vote for what we believe is right and talk to our legislatures about what we believe is right. Etc. So no matter what the lobbyists believe or what you believe, the email I’m about to post portrays the opinion of someone who is wrong, someone who obviously thinks that other people do not have the right to believe what they want to believe and wants to force everyone into his beliefs system – he goes off on a tirade on nothing in particular, just the general stance of the lobbyists.

Granted, most of the hate mail I receive is from Geek Squad employees wishing to put their company back on the map or something and is often just dripping in profanity. You won’t necessarily see that here. This guy appears to be able to convey himself logically but like all others without logical thought, he cannot share his point of view without name-calling and the constant use of cut-downs and insults. Allllllllll because someone doesn’t agree with him and they have a website that says so.

This came from someone calling himself “Country Gayboy” who left the email address Republicans_are_Evil@Bush_Is_The_Devil.com and had the IP address 72.24.210.38 which points to Pheonix, AZ, surprising since he claims to be a Missourian in the Ozarks area.

You people are not only bigots, you’re just plain evil. Your ability to practice your Christohet Supremacy will be dead soon, and all gay people will have equal rights under state, federal, and local law — which includes the 1,000+ benefits that you heterosexual supremacists now take for granted.

Soon we will be able to sue you bigots in court because you fire or evict someone for simply being gay, and you will be put in prison for extended periods of time when you decide to take your own problems out on a gay person and bash them. It will be legal for gay people and gay couples to adopt children, and laws will be brought up to date to protect gay couples who have their own children or care for foster children.

Science will very soon be at the point where the opposite sex won’t even be required to produce offspring. Oh yes, this day is fast approaching.

Gay history will be taught in the public schools, including the great contributions made to society by the countless legions of famous gay people, and you won’t be able to get by assaulting gay teens with heterosexual sex ed without also teaching about gay relationships too. Normal? You bet! Not only have anthropologists proven that gay couples have been around ever since the dawn of humanity (which is much longer than the silly “earth is only 4,000 years old” creationist nonsense), but homosexuality has been proven extant in well over 1,500 animal species as well (read “Biological Exuberance” by Bruce Bagemihl, Ph.D., when you feel like opening your eyes to the real world for a change).

Oh, and books like “Heathers Two Mommies,” and “Daddy’s Roommate” will be required reading by the first grade too.

So get used to it… we, the younger genaration of Missourians, are going to change things to make Missouri a fairer, more progressive, more open-minded, less backwards, and more tolerant place for all to live. Yes, that means more LIBERAL too (it’s not a dirty word… regardless of how lying, scurrilous, lying, sleazy, lying, despicable, filthy, hypocritical, lying hatemongers like Sean Insanity, Rush Hillbilly-Heroin-Addict Limberger, and Ann[orexia] Coulter would try to make you believe).

And with the incredibly high real estate prices in places like California, more and more people from Cali are moving here to Missouri.

Yes… the times they are a ‘changin. Soon, even areas such as down south here in the Ozarks will be released from the bondage of evil, backwards, anachronistic, anti-gay religious dogma. Gay people will be free to hold hands in public without fear of some narrow-minded Bible-thumping moron being offended since it will be commonplace.

While this thought may seem shocking to someone like you right now, just give it time. WIth the changing demographics, the wide exposure to the mass media via cable and satellite television and the internet, the far more educated and open-minded younger generations like ours who see gays as completely normal and an integral part to society will only have to stand back and wait.

Soon the tide of social justice will turn in our favor and it will be the narrow-minded bigots who hide behind innocuous sounding labels like the “family values” moniker who will be ridiculed, mocked, scorned, and outcast for their bigoted and backwards views.

But in the meantime, we at least agree on this:
