hmmm… what?
Well, it’s about time.
The other day, I was talking to the mobile kiosk lady at Sam’s – just chit-chatting, really – and the topic of text messages and text plans came up. She told me about a new plan/feature that you can get, but you have to call them to get it.
Simply put, you add $5 to your current text messaging plan and you can get unlimited mobile-to-mobile texts. Since I currently had the 400 for $10 plan, I called today and told them to change my plan to the 200 for the $5 plan and add the $5 for unlimited mobile-to-mobile. Make sense?
Most of the people I text are Cingular customers, anyway. Just a handful isn’t and I think the 200 on that end should do me fine until we switch to T-Mobile this summer…
So check it out if you already do the text thing…

Verizon has this…they have free unlimited text, picture messages and of course mobile-to-mobile calling to other Verizon customers. It’s another reason we love Verizon and everyone we talk/text to is on Verizon too. It’s a good feature for cell companies to have. I still have a text message plan that I pay for too because I have a lot of alerts that I signed up for, but it only costs like $5.00 for 500 messages (I got it before the rate increased).

hia there! we have a different kind of unlimited text here in the philippines. 30 pesos for 2 day unlimited text, that’s less than $1. we also have $3 for one week unlimited text. :)

Cingular definitely is behind with the text messages.
I’m sad to say, I think I’m going to switch. I’ve been with Cingular for 5+ years and now that they’ve been bought by AT&T it’s time to go. Too bad all the other options suck, too.

I have T-mobile with the “Any 400 Messages” add-on, meaning 400 text messages and picture/media messages [any combination], for $4.99. Right now, most of my text messages are to a single person [ :p ]and I still have a lot remaining.
If your area has good T-mobile coverage, good! The new place I move into seems to have a little bit less t-mobile coverage compared to other places. Some places inside the house I lose reception, which makes me think ” =\ “, :p .

Hey now that sounds like a nice deal. Go Cingular hehe :)
Oh, and thanks for your comment, I gotta say it was really helpful to know I’m not the only one that’s had problems like that.

*Scratches head* That seems to be a little too much math for my brain this late at night. I don’t really understand how those type of plans work, because our cell phones have unlimited calling and text messaging… all the time. I can’t even imagine going to cingular or something similar to them!

you ADD $5 to your messaging plan…how is that confusing..
if your plan is $10, you add $5 which brings u up to $15 and you get unlimited

Okay, “Anonymous,” listen carefully.
$10 plan.
- $5 to $5 plan.
+ $5 mobile-to-mobile
= $10
Not $15. Got it? K.

Anonymous/Jenny – why would I be rude? It is unfair, in my opinion, too. We are only with Cingular until our contract is up. That’s the plan anyway. But while we’re with Cingular why not get the mobile-to-mobile?
