hmmm… what?
I.Am.So.Angry.Right.Now.

Yes, he did it again!
This time, I was off doing a million things (folding laundry, setting up my sister-in-law’s new computer, answering the phone, etc.) but I was still checking in on him and listening to what he was doing. I kept hearing his electronic toys going off and every time I checked on him, he was being good. But somehow, he managed to find a Sharpie Marker that Steve had been using in our remodeling for various things but had forgotten about. It was behind the blinds on one of the windowsills.
He colored on the wall and then put the marker back where he found it then continued to play with his toys! When I came in, I asked, “what are you doing?”
Elijah: “playing!?”
Mommy: “Oh, playing? Can I play too?” (I sat on the couch.) “…What’s that smell?”
Then I looked up and saw it. It’s across the room from the paint disaster (of NOT EVEN A WEEK AGO) and is on one of the non-paneling walls, one of the prettier walls.
This is another one that’s not totally my fault. I didn’t leave the Sharpie out, all of mine are in my desk drawer (which is guarded by a psycho insane mother me constantly) and he doesn’t get them out. And, yes, I was not actively watching him, but what am I supposed to do, follow him around all day long? I have things to get done but apparently I’m not allowed to leave him alone to play for any length of time whatsoever.
*sigh*
What am I going to do with this kid? Up until last week we had no problems like this, now twice in approximately a weeks’ time, and in our nearly finished living room, too. It couldn’t be one of the rooms we’ve not started remodeling yet, could it? No, of course not, that would make my life less stressful.
I used to have an old wav file of Cartman saying “I.Am.So.Pissed.Off.Right.Now.” I wonder whatever happened to that?

Yicks! The pretty wall!! =(.. sigh.
Yeah, you can’t watch over your kid every single second or else you won’t be able to get your work done! Hm, hope you can find a way to juggle both somehow o_O;
If you find him messing around, you can maybe keep one of his toys as a punishment lol..so he won’t do it every again (hopefully) =Z!

Ick…that looks bad. :( I’m sorry that he did that – but you’re right, you can’t linger over your children every waking second…unless you didn’t have a life and didn’t have to get other things done.
My son, unfortunately, has done the same thing – with crayons, not sharpies. I’m not sure why they are all of a sudden compelled to do it. Maybe because we aren’t looking? Or they don’t think they will get in trouble? I dunno. You could try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on that spot. It works wonderfully with crayons and ink, and in the advertisement, they show it removing permanent marker…keep us posted on what you decide to do. :)

Use Mr Clean Magic Eraser, it DOES work..you’ll need some elbow grease too but it WILL get the sharpie out! I tried so many things but that works and it works..on crayons too…

Ah!! Thanks for the advice on the Mr. Clean Eraser. Sadly… I do use those but that didn’t even occur to me, I’m not even sure I have one right now, but either way, it’s already too late. That evening, right after getting home, Steve scraped the old paint globs from the previous week and painted over that (fixed that one just fine) and then painted over the Sharpie… twice. It’s still showing through a little bit though, slightly. So I can’t try the eraser this time… but if he ever does it again, lol! But anyway, the whole wall is going to have to be painted again, thankfully, it’s the short wall alongside the new-large archway.

Wow, that really sucks. My daughter just did that the other day. She’s 5. Very frustrating.
Anyways, my landlord told me about some stuff called “Kills All” or “Killz-All” or some other sort of variation of the words “kills” and “all”. Apparently it’s in a spray can, and if you spray with that before you paint over, the marker won’t show through.

I’m gonna have to look for that stuff… for future use, lol. Thanks :)

[...] can’t tell he “patched” any part anyway, it all blends in wonderfully. Even that spot where E colored with the Sharpie marker is now gone. But he also wasn’t sure about getting the carpet from his parents’ house [...]
