Family Reunion My Fourth of July was good. Hot. But good.

We had a family reunion during the day, then in the evening we went to our local fireworks display with Elijah and met some of my cousins there (the ones that live in our town now but yet we hardly ever see them because I’m bad). We had an all around good time.

I’m so tired even now, but here’s a little bit for you to enjoy. It’s just a little bit of the fireworks finale, the very, very last part of the fireworks. (A lot of people left 15 minutes before this, thinking it was already over.) Listen at the end, you can hear Elijah. By that time, he was glad it was over. “Ears hurt,” he’d told me a few minutes before that. But, yeah, after I failed to get good photos of the finale (too many at one time resulted in just large balls of white light), what was left but to grab some video?

I’ve got those fireworks stills to post to Flickr yet. I’m really happy with the results of both those and the family group photos we took. I’m learning more and more about the manual stuff on the camera aka, “real” photography, all the time.
